City Avenue Market began its journey in 1986 as a humble, family-owned business in Vancouver. Founded with a commitment to quality and community, we embarked on a mission to provide fresh and local produce to our customers. Over the years, our dedication to excellence has fueled our growth, allowing us to expand our presence across Greater Vancouver.

Milestones

• Year 1986: Began as a small, family-run grocery business in Vancouver Eastside, built on a foundation of quality, community, and a passion for fresh food.
• April 12, 2005: Opened a retail store on Commercial Drive in Vancouver, bringing our vision of community-focused, quality food to life in the heart of the city. That same year, we began introducing organic food options, responding to growing demand for healthier and more sustainable choices.
• November 24, 2010: Established a presence at New Westminster Quayside, expanding our reach along the scenic Fraser River waterfront.
• January 9, 2016: Introduced our store on Shaughnessy Street in Port Coquitlam, continuing our commitment to providing high-quality groceries and essentials to this vibrant neighborhood.
• May 1, 2022: Opened our West Broadway store, offering a convenient location for customers seeking fresh, local, organic, and international grocery options in Vancouver Westside.
• March 3, 2025: Completed renovations and expanded the retail space at our Commercial Drive location, including the addition of a full-service deli offering freshly sliced meats, cheeses, and other prepared items—bringing even more variety and convenience to our customers.
